Yes, I would very much like to hear original recordings of the real instruments, unfortunately Modartt don't share them if they have any (it would be great if they did - even if only a few brief samples).
No French section for the forum, but there are quite a few French speakers who are regular forum members (Gaston, for example), and they sometimes post phrases in French.

ah thank you for the greetings and the reply, ah yes but there are still things I don't understand though :
"All the historical pianos and harpsichords are modelled from real instruments in museums"
this is what I don't understand.. or they fine adjust their modelling still it is close to what they hear in the museum?
would make sense...
I guess as they can (and we too) manipulate how big the piano is, the string length etc that may be how...
I wish i could hear the original to compare I will look for one...
I do love Frédéric Chopin I went to his tomb in Le pere lachaise, not far from where I live...
Thanks
are there parts of the forum in French?

Welcome to the forum, yussef961! My understanding is that the historical instruments are prepared in a similar way to the modern ones, using the instrument in its existing state at the time of processing. All the historical pianos and harpsichords are modelled from real instruments in museums or private collections. After the initial preparation, the sound is then modified as necessary to create a 'virtual restoration' - aiming to capture the sound as it might have been when the instrument was first made. This process can be heard to good effect in the NY Steinway Square: the 'Original' preset is the piano with 'authentic owner settings' and the other presets are the modified versions.

It's great to meet another enthusiast for the historical pianos - they brought me to Pianoteq, too!

Hi
I read the very well made part in the pianoteq website where it explains how a sound piano is created from scratch etc, in an interactive way... very well done... congrats

What I missed is how some historical instruments are re created. For example I have bought the pack with an Erard Piano in it from 1849..How would the pianoteq sound compared to this piano in particular? How are they made?

I really do love the fact you can hear the hammer etc feels much more realistic to me etc I wouldn't go back to a sampled piano but was wondering...
thx
first post as well so hello to all
