I was made redundant as one of the circuit organists for our churches due to the fact of COVID19 and my health issues, so for 3 years plus, I've either been working on developer projects or building my own digital 4 manual console which over 3 years has been a nightmare but now it's nearing completion. I was recently diagnosed with a heart condition as well. Back in december, due to snow and a cowboy who damaged our roof, my iMac Pro along with a few controllers and other equipment was damaged by a ceiling cave-in, so lost my main development machine, now just running my 2020 macbook pro and I love it, I don't feel tied to a desk anymore and this works great with the organ build as I have a lot of electronics work still to do. so I understand the income issue only too well.

the specs you give seem fine. I always get a bit jittery over turboboost modes as they're ok for ramping up on certain process loads, but then they back off and it is a headache. I'd say though that the spec would be ok. I'd persuade you to consider a mac though in all honesty because the OS is not as intensive as windows and you can get better audio performance out of a mac. 2014 / 2017 mac mini would work fine for you or a 2015 I7 macbook pro if you can find one in a good condition for the price.

lew
