aWc,

Your eyesight must be considerably better than mine, as I could not read that instruction, on the zoomed version of the tiny window, until I had enlarged the standalone application of Pianoteq to Huge.

Being able to read it doesn't help either since pressing ":" still doesn't start the selection.

Checking with the keyboard shortcuts menu, "Select Range" is definitely mapped to ":", so the problem lies elsewhere.

Now, of course, on my English (UK) 'qwerty' computer keyboard, I have to type "Shift + :" to actually enter ":". However, I do note that "Record Midi" is mapped to "*" and "Load last recorded sequence" is mapped to "Shift + *", which, on my keyboard, is the same key stroke combination in order to input "*".

As a matter of interest, Pianoteq loads the last recorded sequence when I input "*"

If you look at the French 'azerty' keyboard layout

https://i0.wp.com/www.astringo.co.uk/wp...&ssl=1

you will note that both ":" and "*" can be entered with a single keystroke and that the keystroke combination "Shift + *" is a totally different kettle of fish from "*".

The solution is, therefore, to remap the keystroke combination for "Select range" to something like "/", which on the qwerty keyboard is a single stroke. This will then work as designed and select a portion of the MIDI file for you.

Looking at all the keystroke shortcuts, one might need to do a bit of tweaking on the list in order to adjust for the different language keyboards.

Michael

The function to select a segment of a MIDI recording works well from the right-click popup menu. However, when left-clicking the window (which makes a zoomed version of the tiny window appear), I see a text at the bottom: " Press (:) once to start the selection, and press it twice to stop the selection". I can't seem to get it to work!
Can anybody point to the exact way of doing this while the window is zoomed?
