I don't do plugins, only standalone because I just need pianoteq and the complexities of running Reaper or other even "simple" host is a nightmare for somebody like me who only wants to play piano (disclaimer: I used to be a software engineer and I exclusively use Linux, but I am not an audio engineer).

That said, you may certainly submit a issue with them. I've found that Modartt is always receptive to possibilities. However, before you do, you have to think: what's in for them? They can't just do the implementation to make you a favor!! Until CLAP is widely utilized and requested, as well as easy to implement, I reckon the answer will be "we have other priorities".

Reading this one comment was not so encouraging, that should have been the FIRST thing that I'd have done if I were a CLAP developer and wanted to have widespread support: https://github.com/free-audio/clap/disc...nt-3916895

I'm having a bit of difficulty determining what plugin formats Pianoteq actually comes in. Bitwig lists Pianoteq as VST2, which is deprecated and cannot even be licensed anymore to my understanding. There is a folder in the Linux Pianoteq archive that is suffex with `.lv2`, so presumably that .so file is an LV2.. nevertheless Bitwig still labels it a VST2 which feels odd.

I ask because i'm aiming to integrate an audio plugin loader into some software i'm writing. I'd love to be able to support Pianoteq. However VST2 license, as mentioned, cannot be obtained anymore. Furthermore VST3 and VST in general is just annoying/difficult to obtain a license for. I'm curious if the devs (or if they can respond?) have explored CLAP? It is much easier to work with from both closed and open source software.

Some references for anyone curious:

1. https://u-he.com/community/clap/
2. https://www.bitwig.com/stories/clap-the...ndard-201/
