Unfortunately, I keep avoiding actually learning to sight-read and really play! What helped me to get good at sight reading was playing for a local operetta group. They would turn up with pieces and just plonk them down on the piano, sing off key and take great liberties with the timing. Some would even say can you put that down a semi-tone meaning a minor third ! Goofing with the sound of the piano is fun enough, I suppose.

You'll have to show us pictures / video when the piano's ready for the debut concert and you're happy with it.

Thanks a lot for your encouragement, David. Basically, I’ve been trying to stretch myself a little and delve into trying some of the non-pianos and having fun putting them in an ensemble. I think it’s obvious, I have a lot to learn.
