Have been trying to notate some of my piano pieces for years, first (a couple decades ago) using Lilypond, a unique and unusual, and very challenging (to me, anyway) app and method of notating music using a simple text editor and strict conventions of describing the result one wants to achieve, using just plain text, which is later interpreted by the Lilypond app to create a very nice graphical representation of the music as traditional or modern notation, using music-font glyphs and symbols.

However, looking back, it was as though I learned Lilypond more for the challenge than the ease of notation. For the latter, I switched to MuseScore, which has developed dramatically and energetically over the years into what is now a mature and very capable notation app.

Recently I decided to try the newer notation app Dorico, because I love it's design principles, including keeping the fundamental nature of music (pitches and their durations over time) separate from the representation of music using glyphs and symbols on the computer or printed page.

This (video below) is my first finished project using Dorico, notating Seascape 1, a simple and brief piano piece, performed in the video using the Vidal MIDI controller keyboard and Pianoteq 9. The reverb used for the customized preset is the "St Nicolaes Church" impulse response from a Voxengo IR collection (free to download and use) from here-- https://www.voxengo.com/impulses/ -- The impulse response was imported into Pianoteq:
Effects-->Reverb-dropdown-->Use WAV impulse

https://youtu.be/Bt3D_x0qfSk

Binaural mix: For optimal sound, please use headphones.

August Rücker (1871 - 1952) was a German theologian, pastor and composer who became known for his work in Christian choral music. He lived and worked for many years in Calw and Karlsruhe (Germany). He was active in the Christlicher Sängerbund and served as editor of the specialist journals "Sängergruß" and "Der Chormeister".
The hymn “Nur so wie du” is a sacred composition often sung by male choirs. The lyrics were written by Albertine Stiegler and express a plea to live one’s life in accordance with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The musical language of the simple melody beautifully underscores this plea. The hymn is also included in the New Apostolic Church’s men’s choir songbook under No. 17.

Trombone + Violoncello: SWAM Audio Modeling 3
Puget-Organ, Taur Church, Toulouse (1880): Organteq 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3EqVQd_2AQ

All of our music recordings can be seen at:
https://www.youtube.com/@Praeludium.Opus1

Binaural mix: For optimal sound, please use headphones.

Carl Reinecke (1824 - 1910) was a prominent German composer, pianist, conductor, and music educator. He lived for many years in Copenhagen (Denmark) and Leipzig (Germany). From 1860 to 1895, he served as Kapellmeister at the Gewandhaus and also directed the conservatory. There, he trained musicians such as Edvard Grieg and Isaac Albéniz. His compositions are written in the style of the Viennese Classical period and early Romanticism.
The Allegretto is the first movement from the Fantasiestücke for violin or clarinet and piano, Op. 22. It is a graceful piece - as the performance title suggests - with a romantic, lyrical character. The catchy, song-like melody engages in a dialogue with the piano. The composition has a cheerful, joyful, and at the same time relaxed character.

Clarinet: SWAM Audio Modeling
Steinway Model B: Pianoteq 9
M. Unruh, J.

Dear Friends,

I recorded this video to participate in the 2026 contest. It's the first video in which I use Pianoteq 9.
This sinfonia is also built on one theme. The theme is vigorous and joyouswith a definite rhythmic pattern. It appears in the exposition i n the middle, the upper and the lower voices in that order. It consists of two descending thirds: D-C-Bƅ and C- Bƅ-A. A special
feature of this sinfonia is the bi-tonality in the development – at least in its beginning from the middle of (7). The upper voice starts with the theme in C, and the lower one enters immediately in a streto in F. (b.t.w. one of the four clavier duets is a bi-tonal work and it is also in F.) This streto continues up to (11), and shorter streto moves continue to the end of the development in the relative minor (d, 15). The sinfonia contains many other moves of amusing imitation between the voices (4-5, 19-21), which sometimes move together (17-18).
Enjoy your listening from Italy

Carmelo
This video was recorded with these setting:
Played on Yamaha P125 piano stage, Tamara House. Video Recording Samsung galaxy A54.
VST: Bösendorfer VC 280 Pianoteq Stage 9
Editing: Wondershare Filmora
https://youtu.be/KSyPTuot2zo
